The updated version of the documentary film "Neptun’s Trident" is now available on YouTube with Ukrainian, English, and Polish subtitles.
The film tells the story of the Ukrainian movement within the Black Sea Fleet during the revolutionary years of 1917–1918. Its central focus is April 29, 1918 — the day when ships in Sevastopol raised the Ukrainian flag, marking a defining moment in the formation of the Ukrainian Navy.
This new release significantly expands and enhances the original 2010 version. Two previously unused archival photographs depicting the celebration of Green Holidays (Zeleni Sviata) in Sevastopol in 1917 have been added, offering a deeper visual glimpse into the atmosphere of that historical period. All graphics have been completely re-rendered in higher resolution, providing sharper visual clarity and improved overall quality.
In addition, the film has been fully remastered and exported at 50 frames per second (50 fps), resulting in smoother motion and a more dynamic viewing experience. The documentary also includes rare historical images of Black Sea Fleet ships from the First World War period.
With a running time of 18 minutes, the film presents a concise yet compelling exploration of a largely overlooked chapter of Ukrainian naval history.
By publishing "Neptun’s Trident" on YouTube, the film becomes accessible to a broader international audience. The addition of multilingual subtitles allows viewers outside Ukraine to engage with this important historical narrative.
